Entrance hall

Hello again :) . Today I will show you how I have transformed the entrance hall of an apartment.

The entrance hall walls were completely white at the beginning. This small space serves always as the welcoming mat to every home. Therefore it is important that a person design this area to create a sense of expectancy in the guests. They should feel very welcomed and happy to come and visit often.

The ideal would be, that the people who are living in a house, use this space to stamp their personality. I define myself as a fan of the " shabby chic" style", so I try to give this area a shabby chic style.

For the wall I picked a light pink. Given that the entrance hall is small I did not want to make it look even smaller and that is why I picked a light color.

I went out for a walk and I found this nice tree on the floor. So I cut it to make it fit into the room. I think its amazing how the tree looks, since one would never expect to see a tree inside a house, right?

I found this sweet wood sign and thought it would be perfect for this space. I think spaces can´t be fully decorated all at once. With the time you go finding more and more nice things that help improve that area.

AFTER

I bought a chinese white lamp and hanged it from the tree. At a moment I thought I have done decorating the small entrance, but then I thought it would be nice to put on some light. For this purpose I used a light string of 25 lights.

Bathroom transformation - Part I

At the moment I am working on a little project, so it is still not 100% finish. But I am so excited about it, that I have decided to show you some pictures of the: BEFORE. Just to give you a little advance.

BEFORE

The bathroom is completely white and the clients expressed me their wish to have a bathroom where as soon as they walk in, they  get a warm feeling.

I started this project today so check my blog tomorrow if you are interested to see the result.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

And so as I have promised, here are some pictures of the bathroom transformation.
AFTER

It is good to always put some little details everywhere. Something that transmit you a warm feeling and create a good atmosphere. The owners are renting this place, that´s why they could not change the color of the tiles. They told me since the beginning that they wanted to have a bathroom with a warm atmosphere and that is the reason why I decided to use some wood. I think wood is a material that transmit a warm feeling.

I also gave some color to the bathroom by adding some dark red details, such as towels, candles, glasses, etc.

I hope you like the transformation. Tomorrow I will post more photos, so keep visiting my blog and please let me know if you like my work.

Bathroom furniture design

I will continue this week showing you a piece of furniture that I designed. A client wanted a nice piece of furniture for the bathroom to put it on top of the sink.

We know that the best place to put a mirror in the bathroom is on top of the sink and besides the mirror, there must always be some kind of shelf to put the toothbrush, the toothpaste and so on.

We already know the traditional bathroom shelves:

Useful, but nevertheless with a lack of style! So... what I tried to do was to create something that could fulfill this 2 characteristics.

After making a few sketches I felt attracted by this shape in specific. Its really not a very complex shape, but the look is very nice and there is enough space either to put some small decorations like the one you see on this picture, or to put the toothbrush, toothpaste, face towels, etc.

Balcony furniture made of wood pallets

Summer is finally coming and everybody is renovating their terrace. There is a huge variety of exterior furniture that we can find today.

I like wood furniture, but as you know, most of the times, wood furniture tend to be a little bit expensive. So if we are short of budget, that doesn´t mean that we cannot have some nice furniture in our little balcony to enjoy this nice and sunny weather with the family and friends.

Have you ever heard about pallets??

PALLETS?!!!?

Yeah!! The transport structure that supports goods. The ones we see outside the supermarkets and garden centers! Yeah!! those pallets. You can inform yourself a bit more in wikipedia ;)if you want.

Well... how about having some nice garden furniture made of wood pallets??

You can´t imagine how easy and CHEAP is to have such a pallet furniture.

I built this the other day, this is just the first look. I will take some pictures of how the area looks not and I will load it next time.

But here you see the result. After less than 15 minutes, the balcony went from being completely empty to this.

You cannot imagine all the things you can make with recycled pallets!

And as I have promised... here are more pictures of this project:
